The Best DVD2AVI Encoder?

Hi i have been useing flask MPEG to encode my dvds to xvid for a while now but am not really happy with the quality of the rip is there a better faster program out there??

You might try looking through Doom9's XviD guides for encoding recommendations: www.doom9.org

I think by "quality of the rip" you mean your resulted file from encoding through Flask. I'd suggest you use VirtualDub or GKnot, but don't count on them being faster.
