What would be the minimum RAM and CPU to do this?

the minimum specs. As practically all drives have buffer underrun technologies to prevent problems caused by incontiguous datastream. And the lack of cpu/ram only can cause incontiguous datastream. The rest is up to the dvd-recorder itself.

I'm not able to get a successful 8x burn on Ritek +R 8x discs with my Lite-On 832S with Nero Express. Craps out. What could cause this?

The RITEK's are all bad burns. The only non-Ritek I used (a TY disc that came with it) ran through the transfer test perfectly, with straight lines. I thought Lite-On worked the best with Ritek???
OK, Ritek G03's don't work, nor did the 50 pack of R03s. The only G04 I have worked great, I think. Maybe the older Ritek's (gen 3) don't work too well with this drive. Anyone else have any experience with it?
