View Full Version : Joining and spliting divx

Hi
Is it possible to take two 700mb halves of a divx movie and combine them in on single 1400mb? Reason being, it would be nicer to only have to select one file when playing back movies.
One the flipside. If I do want to burn off a 1400mb file later, can I slip it into to separate divx file?
Any help is welcomed

Avisynth script "Avisource+Avisource"
then play the *.avs in an avs-compatible player;)

In some cases, you can append one .avi file with another. And you can easily split any .avi file. See VirtualDubMod Procedures (http://www.doom9.org/vdubmod-procedures.htm) and the older VirtualDub Procedures (http://www.doom9.org/virtualdub_procedures.htm).

Joining is quite easy with VDubMod. You don't even have to write a script. Just use 'append' option from file menu.
Splitting exactly in two equal parts can be a pain. I recommend the program 'AviSplitCalc 3.49 beta 3' for that. It calculates the exact split point and uses VDubMod for performing the task. I don't know where I downloaded this one. Search this forum, coz I gave about a similar reply half a year ago or use google :)
