dark or low light custom matrices

Is there a custom matrix that handles dark or low light scenes? There's always been problems with Xvid where dark scenes are encoded with very low bitrates. I have a few horror movies where there's alot of dark scenes, and they look terrible while the light scenes are overly high in bitrate.

Someone mentioned that a dark scene custom matrix will be made later after Xvid 1 is released. So I'm wondering if there's one yet.

No, it's not a dark-scenes custom-matrix that was planned. sysKin wants to do an HVS-plugin. Until then, perhaps the 'dancing blocks' thread can help you.
