View Full Version : A Humble Farewell

The good Mr. Doom9 emailed me yesterday, notifying me that my mod status had been removed due to inactivity (and this is most certainly not a complaint, I'd been away for quite awhile, and it's exactly what I deserved). Anyway, I'd all but forgotten about this great place, and the email got me to thinking of all the good times I'd had here in the past, the countless hours spent laboring away at DVD2SVCD, and so on.

But, the one thing I regret is never formally resigning when my regularity visiting dropped below a respectable frequency. I figure I owe a lot of old friends a formal "goodbye" and I'm hoping a few will notice this thread to catch that message. I must say my stay here was very well enjoyed - this is (with the single exception of my own forum) definitely the most intelligent, mature, and respectable forum atmosphere I've ever been a part of, and I'm truly honored to have contributed ever-so-slightly to it and it's members. I'm also infinitely thankful for the endless advice, information, and encoding know-how I picked up over the months and indeed years of my stay. I'm truly honored to have served on the staff, even if the pinnacle of my usefulness may well have been moving misplaced DVD2SVCD Advanced threads over to the Basic forum (lol).

All in all, I walk away with a more than pleasant memory of Doom9, and I want to thank you all for making that possible. Specifically to DVD2SVCD himself, as well as Doom9, and all my fellow D2S mods, past and present (chainsaw, you're still a badass in my book).

I wish you all the best, whether or not you remember me at all, as I'm sure most of you will not. Long live Doom9, and best of luck to everyone in both their future lives and future encodes! :D

Farewell, my friends.
- Ralph Coers aka UltimateDBZ

PS: If for some odd reason I'd be honored with the desire of any of my old buddies to speak with me, you can easily reach me at ultimatedbz@dbzcenter.com - OE checks my mail every minute and my comp runs 24/7 (in fact, up to 8 weeks 5 days uptime, lol) - so you can expect a prompt response ;)

Peace.

Thank you for your hearty, friendly words - although they somehow make me a little sad... I hope we'll see you around here from time to time.

All the best wishes.

Don't worry buddy, I'll get 'em for you :D

Enjoy your retirement, albeit enforced, and don't be afraid to pop in and see us in the D2S forums if you find the time.

Take care

Nick

From dictionary.com:

bloke

n : (informal) a man who is (usually) old and/or eccentric [syn: geezer]

(dictionary.com doesn't describe that word at all well (for its common use in England)..."bloke" is pretty synonymous with the word "guy" i.e. informal reference to a male)

Hey Ultimate I totally haven't forgotten any of you guys including Markrb, Dvd2svcd and the rest I had the pleasure to work these forums with. I know even to this day I send people here if they have any type of video or audio questions, and so far everyone i've sent has been very pleased so obviously you and the other mods have been doing a wonderful job.

Btw I am glad Ammck55 messaged me because I would of missed your parting otherwise. Oh Ammck your schedule sounds like mine since the last time we talked but hey it was nice hearing from you also I will email you soon...Oh Ultimate good luck man remember keep your head up:D
