After encoding a DVD some exta-tracks do not allow you to skip to a certain point, so that you have to play fast forward to reach the spot you want to see.
How can that be changed / avoided ?

Which DVD, Region, PAL/NTSC, which Encoder, CCE-Version, Half-D1 Enabled, any preprocessing applied, and, most imortant, which standalone/player? Without any of this information i can't imagine how anybody could help you.

It is 8 Mile, Region Europe. I first cut out several parts like the Trailers with DVD-Remake, then encodet with CCE SP 2.67, HalfD1 not enabled.
The Problem occured with Power-DVD, I just tried it with Media-Player and it is working fine here.

Also, AFAIK, often there are some PUO's, Prohibited User Operations, which don't let you change f.e. your audio/subtitle stream directly, or don't let you skip/ use the positioning bar, while fast forward almost every time works. I have no idea, to which extend RB does remove those prohibited actions.

I'm having problems with PowerDVD and the positioningbar all the time :) . I use it anyway, because, frankly, it doesn't bother me so much. But maybe, WMP, or WinDVD, or Media player classic or whatever is better...

DVD-RB doesn't remove PUOPs, but it is easy to do either before or after. If your going to do it on every DVD you can set up DVD Decrypter to remove them while ripping, this will get both the IFO PUOPs and the much less common VOB PUOPs.

Sometimes removing all PUOPs can allow the user to cause a playback error by selecting an option which isn't supported. For instance, selecting 'angle menu' when it hasn't been defined.

If you just want to remove IFO PUOPs on specific VTS, or even specific PUOPs at specific points (while leaving the rest alone) you can use IFOEdit. To remove all the PUOPs from an VTS just open it's IFO and click the remove PUOPs button on the main page.

If it's a specific PGC you want to alter you can open the VTS's IFO in IFOEdit, expand VTS_PGCITI and select the PGC you want to change. The 5th or 6th item down will be Prohibited User Operations, double click on that to change them for that PGC.

Thx wmansir for the clarification :) didn't know that about dvddecrytor. Sometimes I use some tools all the time, but have no idea about what they're else capable of. Maybe I will try this. I hate watching all these logos and warnings

Why don't you just edit out the logos/warnings? ReMake makes this process extremely simple.

Because I can't / don't want afford remake :) And if I can avoid IfoEdit I gladly will (great program BTW, but for me just too comlicated)! Anyway, if I can remove all those PUOP's within the ripping process, I will just skip them. I don't want to edit each and every disk for hours... :D

call me one-clicker!

I had a disc that had a loud intro little foxes that DVD decrypter wouldn't remove the PUO but DVD shrink would. I suggest running them through DVD shrink with no compression first. (At the time I didn't realize I could have unchecked the sound.)

Also, you should try Vob Blanker.

Guide
http://www.users.totalise.co.uk/~yyyyyy/vob_blanker/vob_blanker.html

Click on a Vob and in the bottom panel, third colum it displays what title numbers are in it, and using DVD shrink you can play the title number to see which ones you want to blank. If the warnings are in the menu, I don't know how to blank that, except to still image with DVD shrink?

Side note: In DVD Shrink, If you delete the sound from a warning and they also have several blank tracks, you should delete all of them because if you don't, the movie sometimes will start in the second audio track.
