Confused about NuMenu4U

Hopefully this isn't too elementary for you all.

NM4U will split large menus and re-encode w/ CCE and then generate a scenarist script. Kind of confused about when DIF4U uses this script to author a new VOB menu file. It doesn't appear that the "new" VOB menu is created until after the rest of the movie is re-encoded and at this point there is a new scenarist script for the main movie. I guess there are two scripts at one point. When does scenarist do the new VOB menu?
I don't know why NM4U doesn't create the "new" VOB menu file before the rest of the DIF4U process. Shouldn't I be able to import the NM4U script into scenarist and have it create my new VOB menu? Can't seem to do that.

Hope this makes a little sense. I'm sure I'm missing something here but I got to know the process in order to learn this stuff.

well a couple things

Doitfast4u doesn't "create" anything... it's the primary utility used to demux the original asset..

NuMenu however should completly regenerate your menu files BEFORE Doitfast4u starts to demux anything.. this is regardless of if you call it first or have DIF4u call it...

I'd recommend trying to run numenu on the dvd in question by itself.. monitor the status / log closely

your structure should be like this

ROOTDIRECTORY (the directory you choose in numenu4u)
|- D_{vtsset} (this is the demuxed assets for th emenus
|- BATCH_1 (this is the directory that's created that contains the scenarist script and authored files.

there are more dirs under each of these as well..

D3s7: any idea what can i do when NuMenu4u Crashes after running CCE ? i got the script but as Scenarist didnt rebuild my menu im with nothing basically... :/

I have run NM4U and get the Directories/Structure you mention.

I checked the NM4U log and everything ok.

I automated the import and compiling of the script generated by NM4U into scenarist(2.7). Import OK but I get a compiling error.

Well firstly it runs dvd decrypter (2 times i guess) then dvd2avi few times - then CCE one time for each m2v (7 total in that case) after CCE finishes last pass of mast m2v then both numenu and CCE just close - scenaqrist isnt running so it dosent reconstruct my menu :/

1) check in numenu what options you have under the "ScenaristOptions" tab.....

2) check the log file where you installed numenu...
(check the logfile before running numenu gain as it clears it when it starts)

both should be able to tell you whats going on.

If you don't get any errors or warnings, it sounds like numenu is configured for no scenarist automation and wants you to do it manually...

NuMenu log dosent contain any errors - hoever if i import scp file to scenarist manually i get stuff like this :

That error seems to occur if the gop structure isn't set correctly. Have you changed anything? have a look at the gop structure in default menu -> GOP. there should be no reason to change from N=3, N/M=4, Sequence header every 1 frame. I have discovered that scenarist will only accept a GOP sequence that has 6 frames or more. A check is now made for this is the new unreleased build. For now, just make sure that GOP sequence is correct. If you're unsure what to do, just uncheck save settings in default menu. This will reset to the default settings. BTW what is reported if you manually drop that m2v into the data section of scenarist?

ok Ive correcrted GOP settings but i still get those errors - after dropping m2v manually nothing happens :/

thats the exact error i get now - seems that GOP problem is solved :)
