Site suggestion for admins:

i think it might be a good idea to save the entire site and forum to a large pdf or html help file for reference offline and incase this doom9.org ever goes offline. It could be saved every 6 months or so and could be distributed on p2p networks or somewhere.

just an idea, but i would really miss the useful info this site has if it was ever taken down for say legal reasons - which might one day happed (?)

I think this is a very heavy work for webmaster,
because this forum is so big!
I suggest some people can select some pickes of the basket,
and download and compress ,look as :avisynth.zip,virtualdub.zip...
and put it download link on forum top.
but I am a newbie , I am just only waiting! too lazy.

This forum is in PHP with a mysql database. Kinda hard to generate multiple html for that :o

i downloaded a lot of the *pages* with BlackWidow (offline viewer, see Nics post) that works by scanning links and links from links but the problem is i cant seem to work out the regex part of the "scan filters" >> so i download all the pages (like the new post page of every thread) instead of just the pages with showthread.php? in the url

my site is hoted in 7 different servers, none of which is in close proximity of another - in fact the servers are located in 3 different continents. In addition to that, there's somebody in a position to take over should I ever be hit by a bus or whatnot.
Forum backups are made by 3 different people on two different continents (besides me). It's gonna take a heck of a lot of firepower to take this all out simultaneously. So stop with all the negativity, it makes me want to throw up.

Also, people who download large amounts of data from one of my servers are as high up on my shitlist as people ripping off my content and spammers in the forum. That kind of behavior makes the situation of any (hobbyist) webmaster a major pain in the lower back area.. you don't have to pay for what you download, but the one that owns the server does. I think if broadband would've been a reality in the old days, not downloading excessive amounts of data would've been part of the initial netiquette.
