just did a quick reformat and it is complaing of aspi errors and failing to start, just emailed sonic, but due to the weekend i thought is best to ask her in hopes of a quick answer.

Sounds like you have an aspi layer problem. Go to the download page and get the aspi checker utility and run it. If you need to install an aspi layer you can also get the force aspi utility. Both are found under the support utility section.
