the stage that i have got to .. Question... What do i do now...

right, i have a tv episode .avi
i used cucusoft to convert the .avi to dvd. (as i wish to play the finished DVD in a regular DVD player for TV.)

now i have 3 files where i had 1.

thats where i am now.

i understand from people i talk to that i have to Auth the DVD or sumat.
i need to burn 'whatever' to DVD aswell .using a programe.

I have nero but i dont want to pay for plugins such as 'DVD-Video Plug-in' which is what nero asks for when i try to click on it to make a dvd.

i have soooo many programes downloaded from this site and now, as i do not know what i am doing , i'm confused! :-(

so please someone give me some pointers and a little tutorial as to how to proceed through the last stages ... I'd be soo much appreaciated.

Use these two files to author a DVD in IfoEdit. The file with .m2v extension contains video, .mpa is audio. Look at this guide (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/mpg/ifoedit-dvdauthor.htm), step 4. The section starts with explanation how to extract chapter points from a commercial DVD, so you can skip that part until the words "Then close IfoEdit and start it again."

The output is a folder usually called VIDEO_TS containing .VOB, .IFO, and .BUP files. You can follow the link to the burning guide or simply burn this folder in Nero as a DVD-Video (not DVD-ROM!) compilation.

the video ts has all the files in but the audio has nothing in it AUDIO_TS is always going to be empty. It's is written on disc only for standard compliance. Here's what to do in case you actually don't hear any sound when playing the DVD.

Try playing your .mpa file in a software player such as Windows Media Player to see if it had any audio in the first place. Either way, you need to ensure that the file is encoded as MPEG-1 Layer 2 with sampling rate 48kHz. Download trial version of TMPGEnc and open either .mpa or .mpg file in File > MPEG Tools > Demultiplex window to see the file format. If needed, use the same program to convert the .mpa to .wav Linear PCM) with sampling rate 48kHz and burn a DVD using the .wav as an audio - it's guaranteed to work. Read TMPGEnc Help if required.

Although .wav will be much larger in size than .mpa you still have enough of spare space on DVD.
