Hey,

I've searched and found only two posts with my problem at hand:

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=63259&highlight=error+112+scenarist

and

http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=61261&highlight=error+112+scenarist

both never got resolved

the problem is scenarist chokes when multiplexing because of diskspace. Well, I have around 20 gigs free when it does this so that's not the problem. The partition I'm working on is FAT32, which I've heard may be the problem, but, I've multiplexed movies before successfully. It chokes on every movie I try.

appreciate anyone's input on this...

specs:
xp pro (SP10
CCE 2.5
Scenarist 2.6

You must convert FAT32 partition to NTFS. That's not only for Scenarist but also for your own good.

NTFS is great (I use it myself), but with just one caveat - do try to ensure that your primary boot partition is kept as Fat 32. This is because if you ever have data corruption or some disaster that prevents your Operating System from booting, you will need to be able to access your primary boot partition using a standard DOS disk. Standard DOS disks are able to read Fat 16 and Fat 32 data structures, but not NTFS. Although it is possible to obtain special modified versions of DOS disks that CAN read NTFS, I would suggest that you stick to standard FAT 32-capable stuff because it offers you a wider choice of options to repair your boot partition with 3rd party executables.

So in short, you should go ahead and use NTFS, but only (ideally) on partitions which you do not boot your OS from.

Hope that makes sense!
