My 25fps XviDs always showed correctly in 2.5, but 3.0 shows them as 30fps - its using VFAPI Direct Show Reader. Is there anyway to overide the fps settings? Thanks.

I may be mistaken, but I don't think that Directshow returns the correct framerate to any program that calls its functions... Your best bet is to either change the priority for DirectShow so that some other filter can read your video or run your XVid video through Avisynth, where, even if it can't read the video without Directshow, at least you can force the framerate you desire.

Is there a better filter I can get? As I say, however 2.5 is reading the file, thats fine!

Not really sure :)
I'd assume that for some reason, 2.5 is using one filter and 3.0 is using another (most probably just reading it through Directshow). As I don't have 3.0, I can't do much troubleshooting other than the very basics.
