Hi all,
Let us know what you think of the new Fast mode in 5.2. It offers similar quality to Standard mode without the performance hit, and also far better compression than Fastest mode.
I'd be interested in hearing how it performs on your capture rigs, i.e. what kind of CPU/RAM/HD/Capture card are you using, and how does this new mode compare to your current solution.
Our hopes are that you will no longer need to capture to high-bitrate MPEG2 before transcoding to DivX - i.e. now encode straight to low-bitrate DivX, or encode to high-bitrate DivX then use this as the input to low-bitrate Multipass encoding.
