Getting Started Please read this before asking questions:
Installing/Upgrading Directions:
If you have a registered version of 1.0.4 installing 1.0.5 over it should not ask you to re-register. Install 1.0.5 and your good to go. (Yes, this is a free upgrade)
If you have a trial version of 1.0.4 the Dr. will start a new trial and you’re good to go
If you’ve used the Dr. before and have had an expired trial, good news, you get a new trial. Install 1.0.5 and your good to go

NOTE: It is very recommended that you reboot after installing the program to ensure everything gets installed properly. Its even a good idea to reboot before installing to ensure that windows isn’t holding on to any DivX files.
Ok, Here is a quick walk through of some of the new features:
Improved Video Analysis: Ok, no more Dr. DivX getting an incorrect duration for your input video. When encoding from a DVD source please make sure IFO files are in the same directory as the input VOB files. Input analysis will be much faster with the IFO file present.

AC3 Audio: You have asked for it and we have answered. You can now have AC3 audio in your Dr. DivX encoded files. (audience cheers)

Audio Track Names: Dr. DivX will now show the audio track name if you have the IFO file within the same dir as the input vobs.

Boost Audio: This will fix all of the “low audio volume” problems. I recommend you check it.

Encoding Profiles: Nothing major here, just made this area un-hidden by default. A lot of people weren’t finding or using these. Use them, they are very helpful when encoding a lot of files the same way.

MP3 Audio Settings: Two things here. You now have full VBR and CBR support. And to all those that asked for it, you have full range in bitrates all the way up to 320kbps.

Advanced Settings: A few new changes here to complement the new 5.2 codec. You now have Adaptive B-frames (bi-directional encoding) and options for Quantization types. For full information on these new features check out the new 5.2 codec user guide.

Profile Editor: The profile editor has been updated with all of the same features. This is an excellent tool for creating encoding profiles to use within Dr. DivX. Create them, encode with them, share them with friends, sprinkle them on your breakfast cereal. So many uses.

Ok, those are the major visible features. Other things that are happening under the hood are improved such as input video analysis, High Definition transport stream handling, file splitting won’t crash anymore, VirtualDub filters wont’ cause it to crash, better optimized DV encoding to allow for less dropped frames, and much more.
