hi there i have a major problem on my hands rite now and i need all the help i can get :S
here is my problem

i am tryin to convert a ogm file into svcd so as in many guides say i have to chance the .ogm name into .avi, once im done i try to load it on tmpg

(many guides state that i need ogm filters installed, but im not sure if i do, if i can run a ogm file does it mean i have it installed already? or i have to do something else?)

BUT when i load it on tmpg it says that it cannot open the file and is unsupported, so then after many tries it had failed

so i used virtualdub and loaded up the ogm and saved the ogm as avi
and that solved the loading error, but when i try to convert it says that i need my window size to be a multiple of 8 (currently the size is 518 x 390) i have no clue on how to change the size using filters,

Another problem is, when i load it onto Tmpg the video preview i see is very distorted, there practiacally is no color and the frames are all cut up and.....just really distorted. ahhh please can anyone help me?

Thx!! and your help is appreciated!! plz respond!!

You can't simply change the name from .ogm to .avi. The OGM has an AVI file in it, and you have to extract it from the OGM. You did that correctly by opening the OGM in virtual dub and then saving it as AVI.

Well it depends, because certain media players like Media Player Classic has a built in OGM filter. But if you can play your OGM's in media players like Zoom Player then you have the filters installed. A better way to find out is to open the add/remove programs from your control panel and see if it you have OggDS installed.

BUT when i load it on tmpg it says that it cannot open the file and is unsupported, so then after many tries it had failed

TMPG cannot open OGM filess, and because you didn't really change the file from OGM to AVI it gave you the error.

so i used virtual dub and loaded up the ogm and saved the ogm as avi

You should search for how to create an avisynth script with the proper resize filters. Then you'll need to search on frame serving an avisynth script into TMPG so that you don't lose more quality transcoding.

Another problem is, when i load it onto Tmpg the video preview i see is very distorted, there practically is no color and the frames are all cut up and.....just really distorted. ahhh please can anyone help me?
That is because of the error you just mentioned above. As soon as it's fixed you will be able to preview the movie correctly.
