Why did you locked it? To your information my work isn't illegal at all. This anime IS NOT LICENSED IN THE US, and it is not licensed in any place in the world right now because IT IS OLD... It is from 1976... there are neither dvds nor VHS tapes for sale... And if you guys want to know more about it, then I tell you: Candy Candy has been having problem in Japan since 7 years ago due to a copyright Issue with its creators and TOEI animation... So basically, nobody is holding the rights to distribute Candy Candy ... And besides my releases AREN'T in Japanese, they are in spanish... and on top of that those TV captures are old as well...

So why don't you guys go and make a little research before you close my posts in that way... you know, it took me time to write that down.

And here is another question... Are fansubs considered illegal in this page? Does it mean that www.animesuki.com is considered an illegal site for you as well guys?

I hope that you can re-open my post since I'm really needding some coaching for this project.

fansubs are like grey area, it's a matter of opinion

the subtitles from fansubs are mostly uses to help create HKDVD*, "why get the official release, if you can get the bootleg for a fraction of the price" (don't quote me on that)

Hm; that there is a copyright issue does not mean that anyone can violate that copyright until the issue has been resolved. Meaning to say, if the series isn't redistributed that doesn't mean it is legal to do so yourself. I think that to spread anime only if it isn't available in your home-country by other means is more of a gentlemen's agreement among fansubbers in order not to discourage commercial success of anime in the states. Don't get me wrong, I sympathize with that; but from a legal point of view it is dubious. BTW, I'm sure you could have gotten technical help without this whole unnecessary discussion - but as you insist on it...

fansubs are certainly a grey area, but you must understand that this site is already extremely provocative to the powers-that-be.

nobody wants doom9 shut down, and though not (very) likely, if the forum is seen to be helping fansubbers explicitly it could be quite dangerous.

all the aspects of your post except the "i'm making a fansub" could easily be discussed. subtitling is fine, divx and mpeg-4 encoding is fine - these are all legal.

but don't mention the war :)

don't see it as us being harsh on you - believe me, if i made that post the same thing would happen.
