Rebuilder and progressive scan dvd player

Just wondering if a dvd player with progressive scan can use that progressive scan capability on a backup made with Rebuilder. Because when playing the original disc of The Last Samurai the progressive scan light came on when playing the backup it did not. i was wondering if there was something that I had to do to make it compatible with progressive scan or if thats just not possible. I know that RB exacty dupicates the video in such a way that it is not needed to deinterlace or anything like that.

If the original is played as progressive scan, the copy should be too. I know it works on mine. Make sure you are looking at the same material. Often the movie itself is progressive, while extras are not. You often also see a short intro before a movie that is not progressive.

Thanks JDobbs.. I will confirm that when I get home from work. Good to know that it does work, for when I eventually get a nice tv and prog scan actually does something for me.
