using the now famous flipped/2 part guide at

http://users.pandora.be/rudy.stremersch/joinclip.html

I've been joining movies and then creating a new .ifo file from stratch using ifoedit - ( why does audio and subtitles come up as 'Not Specified' ? )

In the joinclip guide it specifies ;

Now you just need to adjust the IFO file. You have got 2 options for that:
1: Let IfoEdit create new IFO files for this title-set and you're done. ..... DONE THIS
2: Let IfoEdit correct the original IFO file with the new vob-file information.

it's option 2 i'm interested in. I can't seem to work out how to get ifoedit to update the original ifo file after the 'join clip' has completed. Anyone point me in the right direction ?

Thanks in advance

The solution is in the guide, right after the option 2 you specified:
you will go to strip some streams out anyway. In that case the original IFO file gets automaticaly updated by IfoEdit.
Just select all streams if you don't want them to be stripped.

So would this be the process....
1)perform join clip with vobedit as per guide. I now have sideA and sideB vob files all in one directory with the original .ifo files from sideA.

2) start ifo edit, select open, open VTS_01_0.IFO. Select vob extras, select 'strip streams', 'correct vob-unit', 'correct original ifo files', 'create new ifo files'. select a destination directory. ok. Then tick which steams we wish to retain.ok. off we go.

this should give me a new set of vobs in the destination directory with associated .ifo files which contain onlt the streams I am interested in.

sound ok ?

Sounds OK. Not really verified, however.

Don't forget "Get VTS Sectors" at end of procedure.
