I just got BeSweet to convert my PAL MP2 file into a NTSC one. I followed a guide and have all the right settings selected but how do i start encoding?

if you're using the GUI, just press the MP2 -> MP2 button.

K I i didn't have the exe. got it to work and have been experimenting with this program. Seems like an amazing piece of software. Have a new problem now. the PAL MP2 is 44.1khz, and for audio to play with out skipping on my DVD player i have to convert to 48Khz but when i do change it to 48Khz ether in goldwave or BeSweet it makes the voice high pitched and outa sync. Anyone have any idea of how to covert my 44.1Khz 25fps MP2 to A 48Khz 23.976fps MP2 with out causing this problem...?

Thanks.

You can't do a framerate conversion and resampling at the same time in BeSweet.

I suggest you take the original MP2 file, encode it to WAV resampling at the same time, then encode this WAV to MP2 and do the framerate conversion at the same time. You can do both steps in BeSweet.

Don't do it in GoldWave, do it in BeSweet.

Step 1. Encode the original MP2 file to WAV, choose resampling to 48kHz at this point.

Step 2. Encode the resampled WAV file to MP2, choose the framerate conversion at this point.

Do both steps with BeSweet and post your log files if you can't get it working.

Ya iv tried that already. I have a 44.1 MP2 that is synced perfect to my mv2 and plays on some dvds. but on my main it doesn't. I burned it at 48khz and it played with out the audio skipping but it was then out of sync. now i made a perfect synced 44.1 wav and mp2 and now trying to convert to AC3 witch should play fine on all DVDs, but when i transcode to AC3 it becomes out of sync. just a flat (transcode/change of format) no sample rate conversion or even change of bit rate. I tried converting the synced mp2 and wav to 48khz Ac3 and got the same effect as before.]

Anyone know why when i try to covert a perfect synced mp2 or wav into AC3 it then turns it out of sync?

Sounds more like a problem with your standalone player then. If I'm not completely mistaken, the audio tracks on DVD must be 48kHz according to the standard. If they're other than that, you're asking for trouble.

What do you mean you have a 44.1kHz MP2 file that you burned as 48kHz? Is the AC3 track you created off sync on your PC?

Please be as specific as you can, it helps a lot.

Originally its a 44.1Khz Mp2
I burnt @ 44.1Hkz And played fine on my KOSS player but on my toshiba it kept skipping, then burnt @ 48Khz witch played fine on both but was out of sync. Now im trying to convert the 44.1khz MP2 to a 44.1khz AC3 cuz there's no way I can make any format @ 48Khz play in sync.

Yes the AC3 on my computer is outa sync I put both video and audio into a folder and run the mv2 using media player classic which fetches the audio for the video and and playes them together. this is how i test to see if the audio is insync.

Just so you know the movie was a 2 part PAL SVCD that i downloaded and converted to NTSC DVD. I got video working perfect just having audio problems as u can see.

you don't want to force the input sample rate to be 48000: -ota( -fs 48000 ), instead you want to resample the output to 48000: -shibatch( --rate 48000 )

You're also using a quite high bitrate for MP2, try setting it to 128 for example and see if it works.

Yep the resampling sorted everything out. I now have a fully functioning NTSC DVD with AC3 audio.

Thanks so much guys!

Any one need any help With this process feel free to PM.
