I have been running chopperxp for cutting out advertising from recordings made with a DVD recorder (vobs). This has been working very well for me and I find the ability to cut 'visually' to be the best way to accomplish this task.
Chopperxp suddenly is unable to open ANY vobs. Even vobs it was previously able to open, it returns an error: 'Chopper XP cannot play this file. Try using manual xtract from the file menu.'
I have done a lot of searching for a solution to this, as well as emailing the author (unanswered). I have also:
1. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app.
2. Uninstalled Power DVD (which I read may conflict with Chopper XP, but it was working before with PDVD installed)
3. Reinstalled video card drivers.
4. Upgraded directx (even though it was working with the old version).
I am running Windows XP, on a dual Athlon MP rig.
My guess is that doing a 'complete' uninstall and reinstall may work, but I am not sure how to uninstall 'properly' aside from the usual add/remove programs.
Can anyone help? I am very much stumped on this.
