How can commercials be removed from a DVD that I made from a DVR? I have Shrink, Decrypter, and FAB. Will any of these programs work? Or what do I need and where can I get it? Thanks in advance!

well, you'll need dvddecrypter for the start, but afterwards, it depends on how the commercials are placed! are they normal Tv intermissions? like first movie starts to play then you have a couple of commercials, the movie continues, etc, etc?
if so, you'll have to cut out the commercials with a vobediting tool and afterwards, reauthor the DVD.
if you want to convert it to divx/xvid, you'll be much easier off... just use avisynth with a couple of trim commands, and there you go!!
cheers

or u can add a chapter at their start and skip it in whole during playback using playlists (in maestro) or remove it from scenario editor (in scenarist). I am sure that the rest of the authoring tools must have options to ommit a chapter from playback.
Anyway all of these approaches require that u will re-author the dvd from scratch.

Or I've found that dvdremake makes tasks like this extremely easy, at least for the newbie like myself. It's not free, but it's not expensive, and worth every penny.

You could use DVD2AVI to remove commercials, encode with CCE,author using TMPGEnc DVD Author.
Or just use TMPGEncd DVD Author.

I agree with cyberbob, DVDRemake or the Pro version are the easiest to operate. Sort of like editing with Shrink or some of the major retail programs, but a lot faster and easier. It can be used for simple tasks to major editing with CCE. I'm not sure, but I think they have a trial version to check out the function. Don't believe it will let you export the files with the trial.
You rip in file mode with DVD Decrypter, import the file to DVDRemake and edit. Then you export the file to your burner program. If small enough you can go to a burning ROM or if the completed file is larger than the disc you use a program like DVD Shrink or a retail encoding program (to edit to size). In your case you have already put the file to disc and want to just edit, so when exporting you need only go to a burner.
Editing is simply a point and click affair and you skim through the movie with the forward and back arrows on a viewer, couldn't be easier or faster.
The price is reasonable and if I had it to do again, I would probably buy the Pro version.
