Hello,

I've made a 30 minute project in Adobe Premiere 6.5, using Matrox RT 2500 hardware codec card. After saving the project, and loading it again a strange thing happend. All the .avi files was set to 0 lenght, and only the rendered transitions remained from the entire project. The timeline was empty too. The project was saved a few times before and after loading it it was all OK.

As a solution, I've tried to:
a) load a previous saved version of the project - FAILED
b) load a project from the Project-Archive - FAILED
c) replacing the .avi files by hand - FAILED
d) relocating all the files and selecting them manually at load - FAILED

I need a quick solution, the project should be at the air tomorrow, and I realy lack the time to make it again from 0...

Also, and imformation that may be important: some of the video files used within the project are phisicly located on another computer and accessed via LAN.

Wow, that is a strange one! If you've been working with Premiere and having good results up until now, I wouldn't know what to tell you, particularly when accessing files across a LAN, but if you're working with a recent install, there's a good chance that it's corrupted.

For instance, I upgraded to Premiere Pro recently, and instantly started noticing some little idiosyncracies, like not being able to access the help files straight from the interface, I had to go to the root folder and pull them up from there. I saved and worked with several practice files, but when I finally got around to exporting to DVD, PPro wouldn't recognize my burner. After two different sessions of searching for fixes and tearing my hair out, I discovered that an old install of "Total Recorder" was jamming me up, it seems that the drivers for this little app conflicted with some of the drivers for PPro and caused all kinds of havoc. I uninstalled Total Recorder, and all was well, no problems, so far.

Since you can't access any of your previously saved project files, you don't have anything to lose by trying a clean install (except your precious time!). If you've Total Recorder installed, by all means, remove it!

Good luck, and let us know how you get past this!

I've actualy solved the problem a few hours ago... :D

It is an actual bug in Premiere6.x, and it occurs sometimes when you have mp3 file within your project... There is a program available for download (called PremiereFix.exe) which fixes thoose files. According to the homepage of the proggie the bug is actually in Premiere's saving routine and it saves "rate = 100,000000" instead of "rate = 100.000000"...

I unfortunatly forgot the exact URL, but if someone encounters problems like this, I can send you the proggie, just write me a mail...

Also the problem is solvable if you load the .ppj file into a text editor (Notepad for example) and fix it by hand... Not too hard (search/replace)...
