Ok, this is more than likely a newbie question, which is why it is here. And this post is a last resort, after scowering the guides and forums for something that might solve my problem. Here it is: after converting my AVI file to DVD, the video scrolls, as if the V-hold on my VCR isn't calibrated. The AVI source file is 480x240, 25fps. and specified as Divx 5.0. Using DVD2SVCD, I convert the AVI to DVD, set the aspect ratio to 16x9, verify that resize to DVD is indeed selected, and leave it on No Deinterlacing. When the encode is finished, (using CCE SP 2.66 Trial version) I create the DVD using Nero 6. I make a DVD the usual way, just bringing the VIDEO_TS files I ended up with into the DVD projectI was creating. And then, after the DVD is burned, I load it into my DVD player, and the picture scrolls vertically. Any suggestions on what I might be doing wrong that would make the picture scroll?

What's your TV system? PAL? NTSC? How did you set up your player? Auto output or PAL or NTSC?
To me it sounds like you were trying to play PAL video on an NTSC-only tv.

The TV I'm using is NTSC, the player I'm using is NTSC, and no, I don't have NTSC to PAL activated. I suspected that my problem was that I was trying to play a PAL video, but was hoping someone would point me in the direction of how to use DVD2SVCD to convert my file from PAL to NTSC. Is it at all possible?

There is a setting in dvd2svcd called "ntsc->pal", but not vice versa :(. If I convert, it's the other way around ... sorry that I am not of more help.
