View Full Version : Scenarist and Slide Show problems

Hi there,

I'm working on the R1 version of Traffic, and for one PGC, there are 40 chapters for a total duration of 01:09. This is just a slideshow, should be no problem, right?

Of COURSE, I can't get the ReAuthorist generated script to work correctly.. So, last night I edited the scene times in the script file to match the IFO exactly. Re-imported, and since the clip isn't 16 seconds long like the IFO, I've got the same problem for about 37 scenes being too short.

How can I get Scenarist to import this particular asset as a slideshow? It's an m2v, so I'm assuming I can't..

I figured my workaround is to find something to split this M2V file into 40 separate still images, and rebuild manually. I don't know what the tool is for this job, however.

Anyone have any advice? Thanks for your help...

I never succeeded in importing a script with a slideshow containing chapters. Well actually succeeded in importing it, but couldn't compile it. So I think the option you're mentioning is one that's worth trying.

Yeah, I've been going around and around with this thing for two days now, and it's pissing me off.

Can anyone suggest some software to rip stills from either an .m2v file or a .vob file?

OK - I've used MenuEdit (GREAT program, btw.. one of the few i've registered in my unemployed drought, but that's another story) - These stills have buttons, back - forward - and return to menu. So, I've decided to use a dummy blank, and create a 40 chapter PGC, just like in the IFO. Once I get this layout compiled, what I will do is do a straight replace cell for each of these forty cells, and replace them with the originals.

My question is this: Is the button info stored in the VOB, or in the IFO? Will putting the original cells back into the VOB work, or will I need to do something else?

Thanks for all the help..

only way we've been able to figure out how to do this is to rip the PGC via cell and reauthor that way...

Duh! Thanks... I've never even thought of demuxing by cell id. The obvious solution is the solution.

I'm going to finish this one tonight, if it kills me!

Hello foxmid.

Did you succeed? How did you replace cells by originals? Did it worked?

I am doing the same on R1 version of ICHI - slideshow with buttons NEXT, PREVIOUS, MENU. I demuxed normally for PGC1, 3, 4, demuxed by vobID and created PGC2 from scratch.

I'd like to recreate the whole slideshow in Scenarist.

All done, titleset completelly done in Scenarist, everything OK.
