Hi, I was hoping someone could explain in easy steps, how to go about running an extra pass after OPV, in order to more accurately hit the target size. I've searched the forums, and have found clues here and there, but no real explanation.

------
oh, and jdobbs... I'd like to see you add a temporary expert option to turn off the vaf creation default for OPV, especially since most of the time its not needed, and in the cases when it is, the average person doesnt know how to edit the files to do it anyways, so its only wasting time. Just an idea.
So as for my personal feelings on the program I'd like to ultimately see:
1. Auto-sizing fix for OPV-as a selectable option, otherwise VAF is not on by default (or just an expert option to shut off I guess)
2. Encoding of menus, and re-sampling audio tracks (this would be really useful for alternate languages that you might want to keep on the disk, but dont care to have surround sound on)
3. Interleave/Multi-angle

Those are the main things on my mind now, I'm running out of complaints :) Thanks for all the hard work Jdobbs. Hope more people donate soon, I know I will.
------

so, if anyone can inform me about manually doing this extra pass after OPV, please do let me know, THANKS!

Here is how I would go about it:

Backup your .vaf files into a different folder.

Turn off OPV in DVD-RB and set the number of passes in advanced CCE options to 2.

PREPARE the source in DVD-RB.

Put the .vaf files back in the D2VAVS folder.

A. CCE 2.5
If your using CCE 2.5 you can continue with ENCODE in DVD-RB, it will automatically use the .vaf files and just do a single extra pass, it should hit the traget size as accuratly as multipass usally does (which is pretty good).

B. CCE 2.6+ (and probably Basic, but I'm not sure)
Edit your Rebuilder.ECL file by replacing:

create_new_vaf=1

with

create_new_vaf=0

Then continue with ENCODE in DVD-RB.
