video within video - how

im wondering how to have a slide show about 10 - 15 mins long and in 1 corner of the screen have a mini screen with another video stream running for the same lenght of time

it like having a 15 min long motion menu
i cant seem to do it in dvd lab as it seems to have a time constraint to a few seconds

There is a number of ways to do this using different software. Have a look at this sticky (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=27176) in the Advanced Authoring forum. Among others, I added my favorite method that utilizes Macromedia Flash - very easy for those with web design experience. Usually, Adobe Premier or After Effects are most reasonable choice for the job.
