Hi.. I am working on a project using Scenarist. And within my project I have multiple VTS and Titles. But some how when I play my RW on my JVC it has a pause from one chapter to another while playing. What I mean is that like when I am playing from the beginning, there would be a little pause for 1 second from chapter 1 to chapter 2. Even though it's on the same Title?? If it's on another VTS and Title then I would understand why there's a pause because the player would have to find that segment. But this is on the same VTS and Title just continuous playing from one chapter to another. So what could this be ??

Thanks...

That's a result of non-seamless transition between the cells. Each cell in the Scenario Editor has a flag SM or NSM that could be changed in the properties window. Note that you can't always make a transition seamless, i.e. without the pause. To save you the time, here's a quote from Scenarist manual: Cells and Seamless Play
Playback between cells can be seamless or non-seamless. Seamless playback refers to the smooth, continual flow of video and audio between different scenes with no noticeable breaks or jumps in the action. Seamless playback is ideal but not always possible due to the constraints of DVD technology.

When dragging video tracks that contain multiple scenes to a title folder, a program and cell is created for each scene. These adjacent cells are set to play seamlessly by default.

Non-seamless play means there is a pause or interruption in playback. Non-seamless play is necessary when transitioning between cells that:

- Reside in the same PGC but are not adjacent
- Reside in the same PGC with the first cell containing a Cell command
- Reside in separate PGCs
- Reside on different sides or layers of a double-sided or dual-layer disc

Cells from different tracks that reside within the same PGC are set to play non-seamlessly by default. You can however set them to play seamlessly.

To play seamlessly between cells from different tracks:
1. Drag a video track from the Asset Manager to a title folder in the Scenario Editor authoring area. A Title Entry PGC containing a program and cell is added to the title folder.
2. Drag another video track to the Title Entry PGC. A second program and cell are added to the Title Entry. The second cell has an NSM flag, indicating it will play non-seamlessly.
3. Select the second cell with the NSM flag and set the Seamless Flag in the Property Browser to Seamlessly. This ensures that playback between the cells will be seamless.

Note: Audio streams for seamless tracks must align with the start end points of their video streams. If they do not, Scenarist may not be able to multiplex them (depending on the length of the gap between neighboring audio streams).
