View Full Version : Question about an authoring software. It's not Maestro or Scenarist...
Hello, I just bought a DVD and by looking into the disc. I notice the structure of this DVD was made my Scenarist. Because there were mulitple .vts. And the thing that got me wondering was that, the DVD has a " Spruce Technology" logo. So beside Maestro what other authoring software that behave like Scenarist?? As we know that with Maestro we can only have 1 long video stream. But with ReelDVD and Scenarist we can have multiple video stream as Titles and VTS. So my question is that... Is there other authoring software that acts like Scenarist?? but by Spruce Technology ???
Thankyou

You can have multiple VTS sets and videos on Maestro.
You can have multiple VTS in Maestro ?? Well what I meant was different VTS with different audio bitrate not as angles or multiple audio streams like in Maestro. With the software that I saw in the new DVD that I just bought. The vobs have different audio bitrate. For example: One VTS has 5.1 DD and another VTS with the same audio 1 stream have 2.0 DD. So according to my knowledge only Scenarist does that. But this new DVD has a logo " Spruce Technology" So does Spruce Technology has another authoring software besides Maestro ?

Maestro can do pretty much all the things Scenarist can. Of course, Maestro is not being developed anymore since Apple bought them out.
Yeah Maestro pretty much has as Scenarist but the ONE thing that Scenarist has that Maestro doesn't have is that multiple VTS and Titles. Because with Scenarist I can put different VTS with different audio bitrate. For example right now I am doing a music video DVD and each song is each title and vts. And each song have different audio format and bitrate. With Maestro I only have 1 video stream, so I would have to merged all of my videos together to be able to input it in Maestro. The same thing goes for the audio. So with this new DVD that I just bought. The different VTS has different audio bitrate. So I thought they used Scenarist, but then it has a logo "Spruce Technology". But Maestro can not have different audio bitrate as audio 1.

You must be thinking about some other program than Maestro. Or perhaps you forgot to read the manual. Anyway, here's a couple of links with some basic info about Maestro:

You must be refering to SpruceUp which is a stripped down version of maestro.
Maestro can absolutely do everything you said without any problem.
human75... I think you're right...it's probably Final Cut Pro. I don't own a MAC myself so I can't prove it. But I know it's not SpruceUp because in that DVD it has 2 audio. And SpruceUP support only 1 audio channel. So I guess the only answere I would get is Final Cut Pro.

the original dvd in question will have been authored in DVDVirtuoso, DVDConductor or DVDMaestro (or the other one i forgot), not even DVDStudio Pro puts the spruce ad in there.
