Lets say my friend gives me a XviD home video but it won't play back properly on my DivX/DVD player (DVP642) because it was encoded with stuff that's not compatible with my player (GMC, Qpel, etc.). What's the best way to re-encode into XviD that will play on my system? What I'm doing now is opening the avi in VDubMod, choosing "Fast Recompress", and saving as 2pass XviD without GMC, QPel, etc. Is there a better way to do this (maybe with avisynth)? I would like to loose as little quality as possible with the recompress.
Thanks.
