at the moment i'm messing around with that awful nlite (http://nuhi.msfn.org/) tool which makes it possible to alter ur installation disc of winxp to make it smaller. i thought: hey, great, i get rid of this windows media player (i prefer tcmp4). made it. installed winxp without wmp on a test partition, but ... i can't install m$ codecs (demands wmp installed) or playback any wma, wmv etc. tried k-lite codec pack ... the one with the wma directshow decoder. but it doesn't help. my question is:
is there a way to playback wma without wmp installed? and which files belong to the directshowfilter? how to manually install that codec/filter?
