For me for some reason changing palette color for external subtitles dosent work, i dont know what im doing wrong but it dosent work,
anyone had similar problem?
I would like to know what im doing wrong, like for instance i would like to change outline color.
Thanks to all!
If I remember correctly, the colour palette does not currently work when using DVDAuthor. You need to use Scenarist to author for this.
This is a bug I believe is fixed for the next build but as the author is a busy man I have no idea when that might be.

Thanks Nicky !
I will try it! Just tell me for instance, have you ever used color palette ? I was able just to change brightness. I want to know if you if you ever changed outline and saw the change in the preview?
For me color palette smells fishy or i dont know how to use it?
Ill try and report you back!
Thanks, for the tip, and your time by answering on my post.

What are you trying to achieve? svcd, vcd, dvd, burnt-in or selectable subs? Just now, I managed to modify the colour of externally added text subs in a dvd2vcd conversion ...
If it is for (selectable) dvd subtitles, editing the palette info in the authored ifos might help.

I think the current release of DVD2SVCD in DVD2DVD mode using DVDAuthor does recognize the subtitle color settings. I had trouble getting it to show the proper colors and after fiddling with those settings I was able to get it to work. It surely is not easy to use since it has two places where you can set the subtitle text settings.

to smiler: i want to have permanent subs in the movie from extrernal to "burned in" the movie but in DVD2DVD mode. Not Svcd, (Sorry i didnt properly wrote in earlier post).Because my standal one player cannot use selectable titles.
Any comments are greatly appreciate, i still havent checked by changing dvdauthor to scenerist to test color palette but i will later today,
But then scenerist problem occurs. The multiplex stage hangs in scenerist if movie is over 90 mins. Anyone had similar problem ?
With dvd author no problems for me at all!
Thanks guys!

@svcdprayer, permanent subs are encoded into the video at the avisynth/CCE encoding stage so different authoring programs cannot help you with sub. colour settings in this situation, you have to fiddle with the palette in DVD2SVCD.

@svcdprayer:
I tried exactly what you are trying to achieve, make an svcd with burnt-in external text subs. In the "subtitles" tab, I changed the palette to my liking (I used a different font colour than the default).
After hitting "go", the subtitle preview would show the external subs with the default palette, the subs were generated ok with my choice of colours, though. I am using 1.2.2 build 1.

NB: I reread my previous post and found the wording was ambiguous, I changed it to make it more comprehensible.

I would have to agree with ralphthedogs comment. If fiddling with the palette settings doesn't help, you might want to try editing the "dvd2svcd subtitles file.ini" and restarting the conversion. That file contains the palette settings. I haven't tried this myself, though.
However, I can't quite believe there are standalone players which don't support selectable subs - which model do you have?

to smiller: I do have Cyberhome AD-L 528.
Question: when u done dvd2svcd with external subs after fiddling the palette and choose the color of your choice and when hitting go then next preview didnt show the color of your settings but after conversion is done u saw it on your player and everything was perfect?
Did u check preview screen of the movie with external subs. Have u seen there color changes of your choice ? Or its still the same like in previous question that u have to wait untill u see it on the standalone player ?
Also what about subs wich are already in DVD and u want them to be ripped and built-in the movie for dvd2svcd mode. Same results?
Thanks alot for help and understanding!
