DVD2AVIg very slow

I am using AutoGK. My problem is that suddenly DVD2Avi takes a very long time to output the D2v file.

My computer specs are:

Intel 2.8 Prescott (HyperThreading enabled)
Intel 865GBF Motherboard
512 MB 400 Ram (Running in dual channel)
primary hdd Seagate 80 GB connected through serial ata
OS winXP Professional

While DVD2Avi is running my computer's response becomes extremely sluggish even though CPU

usage is reported at just 50%. When working on an encode in AutoGK the timestamp moves

very slowly and a regular 2hour movie takes anywhere from 20-30 minutes... after this step

however audio ripping takes very less time and i get good fps on xvid or divx in

virtualdub. Here's the AutoGK log and you can see how much time it has taken for DVD2AVI

to process.

DVD2AVI process priority is normal but changing it doesn't make a difference. I didn't

change any variables in the help menu... i'm using DVDAVIg 1.3.0

It never took so long earlier... please help me resolve this...

Try raising the DVD2AVI process priority one notch, if you haven't already.

I have already tried changing the process priority... didn't work, i re-installed... same problem again...

couldn't find the cure... even dvd decrypter had slowed down so did a back up, formatted the drive and reinstalled xp... finally 2-3 minute dvd2avi d2v output :) untill ofcourse suddenly things slowed down again... i was updating norton antivirus and got infected by a virus... cmd.ftp aka sasser, had to reinstall xp all over again and use defs and removal tool from symantec to get rid of it.. it's finally over and ripping is fast... lovin life :)
