I recently got a new computer and I now have XP home as opposed to win2k.
I moved some of my programs that i use for encoding.
I installed all of the normal codecs (Xvid, DivX, MP43, etc.)
I tried to open an .avi file in TMPGEnc Plus to encode to DVD or SVCD. But it say "Cannot Open File or unsupported" Well I had already used Gspot to make sure the file length was correct and that I have the correct codecs. I can play the file just fine, no problem.
When I when under enviromental settings and changed directshow to the highest setting, the Windows pops up and says "Report Error?" so TMPGEnc plus(2.5) just shuts down. NOW I d/l the free trial version (2.5) and moved the directshow to the highest ranking and it works just fine.
how weird is that?
I'm not sure what else to try. The free one works. but Not the Plus version.
WinXP
Athlon XP 2600+
512 RAM
NVidia
TMPGEnc Plus Version 2.53.35.130
PS used it many times on my old system.
