ive been backin up dvd's for awhile now 1st w/ the dub's & sumtimes w/ gknot if i dont want to use some avs filter it doesnt have auto scripted.
anyhow i came across a dvd that at the same point after encodeing would go to heavy pixelation & jitters. i tried 2 different dvd rippers because i read that may have something to do w/ it, i tried divx3.11 & xvid0.? on a win98 machine & divx5.1 & xvid1.01 on a winxp machine on the xp machine id get the ntdll. error(see thread http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=68930) at the end of each pass but giving the same results, on the 98 machine no errors but same results.
results being: it always goes bad around minute 37 of the film, ive raised the BitRate to cazy highs thinking i could widdle down the final product once i have a good avi, but no luck.
the avs file plays fine all the way thru, the d2v file plays fine all the way thru & the vobs play fine all the way thru.
ive encoded it in little random 5 minute blocks throughout the "bad" part(the 37minutes plus of the film) & they encode fine but running the whole thing never works, ive since broke it into 3 pieces hoping that would work(then just recombined it after) but no luck.
it doesnt seem atributable to any one thing
any thoughts would be great, or should i just give up? (sorry if this is the wrong place 2 ask feel free 2 move)
*hope this is more ledgable ive gone back & edited out my "short hand" sorry bout that :P
