Compressed DVD freezes after layer switch

Hi,

I tried searching the net for an answer but no luck, so here I am ...

Apps:
DVD2one 1.4
Nero latest version

After compressing DVDs (any title) with DVD2One to a single layer DVD+R or DVD+RW, it would play well in PC but it on my regular player, it would:

a. only play the first couple of chapters
b. freeze up as soon as it plays chapters from the "virtual" second layer.

Any suggestions ?

Is the backup playing normally from your hard-drive?

Yes, the files worked fine on the HD.

My guess would then be there is a problem in the burning process or media.

1) your set-top player might be picky in terms of what media you "feed" it.
Try another media.

2) you might be burning at too fast a speed for this particular combination of media/burner.
Try burning at a lower speed.
Try another media.

3) your set-top lens might need cleaning.

4) you might not be burning using the correct method.

It was made with Nero v5.5 but the principle is the same. ;)

5) your set-top player might be more compatible with DVD-R(W).

If all else fails, you might want to give DVD Shrink a try.

What version of Shrink are you using? Make sure you have updated your nero too.
