View Full Version : Bugs in 1.42b?

I downloaded today the newest version of AutoGK, 1.42b, and started to encode a movie with it, and ran into some problems.

First of all, I decrypted a DVD with DVDDecrypter in File Mode, which I had always used before, and worked with AutoGK before. But I got an error message: "Error parsing input directory. Make sure you used DVDDecrypter in IFO mode to rip a DVD".

Is this something new in 1.42b, that you have to use IFO mode with DVDDecrypter? Why? The file mode is more commonly used, is compatible with more other programs, etc.

So, I re-ripped in IFO mode. I opened the resulting folder with AutoGK. I chose the audio track, and the subtitle track (a foreign language film with subtitles), all my settings, etc. I then clicked on "Preview".

When the resulting preview played, it had no sound, and there were no subtitles. Also, the size (resolution) was not the same as what I specified. Does the preview not normally include sound and subtitles, but they will still be in the whole video? Or is there something wrong I should fix before processing the whole video?

Thank you.

Hi-

Is this something new in 1.42b, that you have to use IFO mode with DVDDecrypter?
No.
Why?
So that you get the angle you want, and only the angle you want. Not all that many DVDs have multiple angles, but when you encounter one, you'll mess up big-time by using File Mode.
The file mode is more commonly used,...
Not for .avi creation, it's not.
...is compatible with more other programs, etc.
Not for .avi creation, it's not. In any event, you're using AutoGK, and it requires the use of IFO Mode.
When the resulting preview played, it had no sound, and there were no subtitles.
It's not supposed to have sound. That will show up in the final .avi It is, however, supposed to have subtitles. Open the .idx file that was created. Do you see timestamps in it? What happens when you choose different language subtitles? Do they appear?
Also, the size (resolution) was not the same as what I specified.
You chose a fixed horizontal resolution? I thought it was supposed to display the Preview with what you chose, and only Auto settings gave you a big resolution (704*xxx?). But that should come out OK in the end.

Perhaps you should read the Guide (http://http://len0xmirror1.serveftp.net/~len0x/tutorial/AutoGK.html) at some point, particularly as it applies to DVD Decrypter.
