analogue out

Hi,

My output from my monitor(1600x1200) to my tv has a terrible quality.
GeForce analog output only goes up to 1024x768.

Does anyone know what the best way is to display DVD movies on my tv without changing my resolution?
i am cuurrently using Trust Televiewer. it does a reasonable conversion but tend to loose some color.

GeForce analog output only goes up to 1024x768.What's the problem with that? 1024x768 is much higher a resolution than your TV can display anyways

Hi,

well the problem is becoz it doesnt shows the whole screen, only the 1024x768 square, i need to pan around to see the other areas of my screen, which is hardly an option watching dvd :)

Why do you want to keep your monitor at a higher resolution when you want to watch DVD? Are you at the same time working at the computer and watching DVDs?

You can use ZoomPlayer to downscale the real "playback-area" to 1024x768 pixels... ;)

yes, i work on this computer, i need high res. todo by CAD work.
tried to limit by screen to 1024x768 is an solution, but was hoping for an more elegant solution :)

are there videocards that can output analogue with the full 1600x1200 resolution?

yes, i work on this computer, i need high res. todo by CAD work. You work with a CAD program and watch DVD simultaneously? If not then you could switch resolution as soon as you watch a DVD/Divx (that's what I do and for me it's no problem because I either work or watch video)

thats a solution, just annoying all my icons on my desktop are messed up again.

You can use divxG400 for example or set it to "extended overlay", so it will playback the video on your secondary display (TV) in fullscreen switching the display resolution down to the resolution of the video file. The resolution on your monitor will remain the same and you can even minimize the video player (mediaplayer for example) and work in CAD while someone watch a video movie using the TV out. Is that what you want?

Hi,

that is one of the better solution, but when i use proggies as myHTPC and a preview shows up, the whole interface dissapears from my screen. (second monitor).
But as u said i probably better settle down with this option and have to controls on my primary monitor.
