View Full Version : Any way of backing up a film split over 2 DVDs onto a single DVD?

I have a film, Schindlers List, that is split over 2 DVDs. The 2nd DVD only has around 30mins of the film, the rest is extras.
I'm not bothered about menus, or setting chapter information for the last 30 minutes, as I'm guessing that will make it much easier.
Is there an easy, or relatively easy way of creating a film-only backup that will fit on one DVD5?
Thanks

You could try dvd2one (http://www.dvd2one.com) or dvdshrink (http://dvdshrink.info). Guides available on those sites or on this one.
.
If memory serves me shindler is like 10-12 gigs and others have posted about the problems compressing down to 4.3gigs.
.
.
Note: you could have also tried the newbies or 1click forums.

Thanks mudda
I've no problems with dvdshrink, but I'm not sure how you'd combine the 2 lots of data streams after shrinking.
That's why I cross post into other forums - didn't want to annoy any mods, but also didnt really think it would be possible to do what I want with a 1-click program.
Thanks for your reply

Follow mudda_t's link to the Shrink homepage, then click on the "Guides" tab. There, you'll find a guide for building a compilation, which may be a solution you'd like to try.
