I've just recently installed the new dvdremake pro, and was trying to back up sex and the city season 1 disc one. I cut out the HBO into static scene from each episode, and the exported product plays flawlessly. Now heres where I get confused... after running dvdrb to get it within target size, the first episode title sequence is glitched out. Heres what happens, the title sequence starts like normal, but with no audio, the title sequence continues, and finally the theme starts (from the beggining), then the video stops, and waits for the audio to catch up.... and then everything else appears to be fine. All the other episodes start just fine, no audio dropout, no freezing... I tried OPV and multipass, both with the same issues. and to reiterate, the exported project from dvdremake plays flawlessly.
anyone have any ideas as to what has caused this?
*edit* the m2v file for that episode doesnt pause at all btw (although theres no audio with it, the video doesnt freeze up at all)... all the other episodes have the last frame as the first frame as well(the frame is at the beggining and end:-/) it seems to be a problem with the prepare(D2V)?*edit*

Ifound something else that might be of use in troubleshooting this problem... but it bring me no closer to fixing it personally, I'm hoping some people out there might have some ideas....
it seems that the last frame of the cell (I cut the ending hbo static as well) is the very first frame after DVDRB is done with it. its not that way on the remake export :-/
but the first cell is the one exception to that, but as I mentioned earlier, the audio doesnt start up right away, and the movie pauses/skips a bit to let the audio catch up when it finally does start.
other than that the dvd is fine. I'm confused, anyone else confused too?

I think this was covered before (no solution though?), the HBO logo either freezes on playback and if you remove with dvdremake the audio is offset. You could try dvdstripper.

but the audio isnt "offset". in fact its perfectly fine once the video catches up, and its only on the first episode in the opening sequence... seems to me that something is off on the rebuild because its only that one spot. and all the other episoides have the very last frame at the beginning, but they are perfectly in sync. It might be worth looking into for either dimad or jdobbs. Cause its really not that bad, just a very minor thing, but the way dvdrb is reading/rebuilding must be off somehow. and of course dvdremake must have done something that dvdrb doesnt like... lol. But it should be fixable, if we can just figure out what exactly is causing it.

I've discovered that CCE is NOT the culprit here, the avs files created by DVD-RB bring up the same results I get after encoding, as of course it would, being fed into CCE like from the avs files. So the problem is a compatibility between DVD-Remake's Cut to/from here options and DVD-RB. The frame problem can be solved on all but the first episode by editing the AVS files to trim AFTER the "repeated last frame" (and yes, the last frame is still at the end of the clip). Following logic, something isn't reading right when the D2V files are created... dont you think?
If we keep tossing Ideas around, we may come closer to solveing/preventing future compatibility problems.
