original DVD2Divx great but...

tested 2 scenarios:
original movie dvd, bought somewhere
rip quality is great even when i pack 90+min @700mb

when i create an own dvd (ulead dvd moviefactory)
from my capture device (quality is @8mbit)
dvd-playback looks great
after encoding 250 minutes @175mb
(using XviD 1.0.1) and autogk beta 1.42
the video-quality looks kinda poor

got a rip by someone else, same size same playlength
(perfect picture, also using XviD)

any ideas?

note: moviedvd's are 8to 12mbit if am not wrong, so...
same size to shrink, same content (both movie, NO cartoon)

any ideas? i have none...
think autogk chooses best encoding settings (or do i have to set thos encoding vallues on my own?)
