I am a new user to IFO Edit. I have my first HTPC and I'm using myHTPC for front-end, TheaterTek for player, DVDShrink (DVD Decryptor when needed) for backing DVDs up to HDD, and Gotcha covered for profile and cover art download. Anyway, I'm using IFO edit for some items like cleaning up dual-DVD moive sets to one folder VOB/IFO set. So far these dual DVD movie sets create 8 VOB files......1GB or less. I have heard other places there is an issue running more than 10 VOB files back-to-back. Is this true ? Is there a IFO or VOB Edit around this limit ? :)

Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.

The problem you heard of might arise due to the total size of VIDEO_TS folder, not the number of files. Some authoring programs are not designed or refuse to build a DVD larger than a standard DVD-9 (~8Gb). Since you're going to store the files on a PC, you have noting to worry about unless you specifically come across this issue.

Though all VOBs should not exceed 1 GB, there's also the filename format to contend with too. Read here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=71071&highlight=8.3+filename+format).

You may have up to 9 VOB files for one title set, as per the DVD specs. The file name format is like VTS_xx_y.VOB, where xx is the title set number (1 to 99) and y is the VOB number. Since 0 is reserved for the menu, that gives you 9 more.
