Hi

I'm going to include subtitles on my Initial D R2 DVDs but they wont fit in DVD5 media. The source is hybrid with lots of interlaced CG and 24 fps sequences.

As CCESP is completely out of the question (due to the source being hybrid) I was wondering how will transcoders like IC8 handle a hybrid source... I mean will they reduce size of movie respecting interlaced sections and frame secions ? or will it convert all video to interlaced ?

transcoders don't touch the video structure, so every interlaced frame in the source will be interlaced in the target, same goes for progressive, and every video screwup that was present in the source will be present in the output.
