View Full Version : What do I search for?

Hi Guys and Gals,

I need to know what to search for (I don't need things to be handed out to me). I'm not (yet) mastering the lingo. :)
I have a set of animated DVDs that contain two title sets each. Each title set contains 7 animated clips for a total of 1.75G (in two VOBs).

I need to split up the video clips (by chapters) so that I can trim the beginning of each clip (ugly logo) and the end credits. I then intend to join as many as I can so that the result fits on a DVDR.

I tried searching for 'splitting title set' but it doesn't seem to give me what I need. I also searched thru 2cool's guides, but none seem to apply to me.

Thanks for any help.

By the way, there is a post that suggests trimming each clip manually with DVDShrink. Simple, yet efective. But there has to be a more elegant way, like using IFOEdit?

Read this thread:
http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=25879

It explains exactly what you want to do using IfoEdit.

Read all of page 1 which explains how to demux so you can cut.

Read page 3 as it tells you how to correct the pointers in IfoEdit.

(You can skip page 2 because people are only fighting with each other)

You basically need both of Derrow's tools: IfoEdit and VobEdit.

The linked post deals with removing end credits, but from reading it you can apply the same technique to removing the beginning logo.

That is the "elegant way" using IFOEdit.

Thank you very much, VD.

This is more than I asked for, but I can't complain. ;)

I will follow the guides. Thanks again.

you can do the "elegant way".
but i would use dvdstripper, vobblanker or dvdremake.
and do you want to keep the menus?

Not being familiar with either program, I gots to do some research.
Thank you for the pointers.

I don't intend to keep the menus, but I would love to be able to make my own, once I put all the clips back together.

As far as your last statement... there is no drooling smilie on this forum...
