I have the DVD boxset of the a-z of british motorcycling from Duke Video

I have backed up disc 2 & 3 using DVD decrypter,dvd2one and primo prazzi with no problems.

disc 1 stops ripping at VTS_04_1 and does the same on VTS_04_2 when tried individually.

I have also tried smartripper. no joy !!!!

Please help

Is VTS_04 the main one?

If not, just forget it and do a movie only backup.

If no program can read those files, I'd say the disc is screwed or it's using that bad sector protection. Can you see a ring around the disc on the side it reads from?

Thanks for the reply Lightning.

VTS_04 is not the main vob file, it is like an encyclopedia of bikes with 1 minute clips of 500 bikes spread over 3 discs.

I thought that as the disc plays on my standalone and pc that it wouldn't have errors.

I cant see a ring around the disc on the playing side.

All other files copy to HD but VTS_04_2 freezes at 26%

is there another way of copying this VOB.

If I exclude this VOB file dvd2one wont write the file.

Darren

If its not part of the main movie set, I figured you could just do a 'main movie' copy in dvd2one. Obviously 'full disc' wont work.

Try copying the file over in explorer, it should error out with a crc error or something similar.

All you can try doing is reading the disc in another drive and / or cleaning it with something like toothpaste.
