Has anyone ever though of the power of making an avisynth interface to image magick?
You would hand the filter a clip, and an image magick string, and the clip would run that string on each frame before serving it to you.
This could allow for all manner of warping, overlays, p-in-p and other things that would be far easier to do in image magick.
I know that IM has an extensive set of api's for accessing it, and it is very portable.
