Hi LenOx,

would you consider to intergrate a new matrix for 1CD backups? In the xvid section a forum member (Jawor = http://www-users.mat.uni.torun.pl/~jawor/matrix/) did a very good job building one. Even Teegedeck says it's his new recommendation for low-bitrate-matrices (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74463&perpage=40&pagenumber=2).

what do you think?

cheers Sill

How compatible is it with standalones?
Whatever I use should be playable on sigma and mediatek chipset...

Also I would like to see how it performs on high bitrates since softer matrix is no only used for 1CD rips but for TV eps es well (which I just realized. bummer actually) since size is less than 700Mb. I need somehow to enforce sharper matrix on short sources as well - may be if you have selected AC3 source, then it starts with sharper matrix...

Hi-

I use it sometimes, len0x. It works fine with my Sigma Designs chipset standalone. I don't know about MediaTeks, though. It compresses better than H.263 and HVS_Better. I couldn't really say myself whether or not it's actually better than those other 2 for low bitrate encodes. But as sillKotscha says, it's recommended by Teegedeck, and by many others as well.
