View Full Version : XviD Converted Movie Always Lags

Hello.

Sorry for the cross-topic, but I have a major problem with XviD encoding. For some unknown reason, every XviD movie that I encode myself lags. It's definitely not an AC3 remultiplexing issue because even the sole movie output file lags ("xyz_Movie.avi"). I tried to encode PAL and NTSC movies, but the problem always occurs. However, XviD movies that I didn't encode myself just run fine. Does anyone have a clue? I followed the Doom9 XviD tutorial step-by-step and even reinstalled XviD and GKnot.

Here's the topic in the Noob forum (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?threadid=78383).

I hope someone can help, because I'd prefer to use an open source codec over a commercial one.

Thanks,

Stainless

Perhaps if you'd tell us the speed of your processor, if you did use qpel and the resolution your own encodes got would make things easier to solve.

You can also look for a different (faster) decoder like ffdshow (make sure you got a recent version --> search).

You already know that there's delay in audio?

If you demultiplex your ac3 stream you'll notice something like *_DELAY_-88ms.ac3 in the filename.

And there you know everything you need to know.

Btw., cross posting is a big no-no here, and this isn't your first post. So I'll now close this thread and issue a strike.
