Subtitles at half-D1 with software-players

some time ago, I did a few encodes with the half/half-option and the subtitles of the extras were cut in half, too (using PowerDVD). Does anybody know if this problem still exists, and/or if there is a workaround (using a Software-Player)?

I tried with MPlayer-Classic, but all the same :(

PS Pleas dont tell me to use my standalone, because I don't own neither a television nor a standalone player

Try WinDVD4.

And consider buying a 16:9 32" Sony (around 600€ for the 50hz model which gives best picture) and a 60-100€ DVD player. It's far beyond watching DVD on PC, and I have a 21" Sony monitor.
