I am having a problem with dvd's that have come out of dvdshrink or dvd remake. While I know rebuilder is a beta and it is difficult to diagnose problems with 3rd party stuff I thought I would ask anyway.

After shrinking or remaking I typically get alot of trim (x,x) lines in avs's that are 0 frames, i.e. trim (34567,34567). When using cce 2.67 SP cce crashes, and then rebuilder crashes b/c there are m2v files missing.

This issue has been mentioned before.

Wierd thing is I switched to cce 2.5 and re-prepared, and rebuilder worked like a champ!!

2 question.
1. is there a quality improvement when going from 2.5 to 2.67? if not then all good, ill just use 2.5

2. any idea why the exact same files would work in 2.5 and not 2.67? i am using the same eclcce for both.

thanx

@jptheripper

Eclcce should point to the right CCE exe file...
You may check the actual path in the eclcce.ini file...
I think you may delete this file when you want to switch
between CCE...

You should then set the CCE Setup Menu AND the Options in order to match with the CCE you want to use...

...And redo the backup from the prepare step...

I did not try since I do not have CCE 2.5, but it should work...

EDIT: and the trim(x,x) lines you see are not 0 lenght, they are 1 frame, so nothing wrong with them; it is perfectly legal; they just are referring to single frames...

i actually have to different copies of eclcce (1 for each) in differnt folders with different .ini's

As for setup i am 99% sure i got it right.

And good to here the trim is right for a single frame, for some reason my copy of cce 2.67 crashes on single frames, wonder why. It crashes prior to vaf run (while loading avs i presume).

Have you tried the latest DVD-RB version? Single frames are now encoded with CBR instead of VBR -- that may make a difference.
