Version : 0.53

I backed up LOTR ROTK PAL and in the rebuild phase it didnt copy the VTS_01_1 and VTS_02_1 VOB files, without the files it worked in PowerDVD but not on my pioneer standalone, anyway I copied them manually and it worked fine so no big problem just to let you know ;)

I just had a similar problem with v.53... it also dropped an unaltered file during a full disk backup:confused: .

I was backing up 'Touching the Void', and it dropped a single file, the VTS_02_1 .VOB file. When I checked further, I noticed it wasn't picked up in the VAF pass.

It turned out that particular VOB file wasn't a 'necessary' file (a trailer), but I was concerned that it may alter the playing of the DVD. As of last night's viewing, it hadn't.

Anyway, I've never noticed previous RB versions dropping a file on any full disk backups before...

Downloaded version .53 yesterday, and after transcoding, I tried to burn it using Nero version 6. I received the compliance error, "File reallocation failed". I burn anyway, but this does not play in my standalone. I know that this error has been mentioned before, however, I do not have this problem in version .52.

Just to test, I ran Rebuilder again, this time with version .52 using the same source, and even the same rebuilder.ini (no modifications), and it encoded fine. No errors in Nero. I haven't yet had the chance to test it in my standalone, but I'm sure it will work fine (aside from the audio dropouts I continually experience with this particular movie) as it always has previously.

Just wanted to let you know JDobbs, and to see if anybody else gets this problem.

Probably the same problem I posted about, check your original if DVD-RB didnt forget to copy some unaltered vob files.

Same problem here. DVD-RB Faild to copy vts_3_01.vob which was an unaltered file...moved it manually and its working now. Looks like a bug. ;) Keep up the great work Jdobbs, /me lubs dvdrb.

I'll look at it tonight.

I encountered the same thing:

VTS_01_1.VOB 10kb

didn't copy over.

Although, I think I used titlesetblanker to blank that VTS set. But I don't think that should make a difference.

Edit: I should remind people, if you copy the files manually be sure to 'Get VTS Sectors" with IFOedit before you burn it.

First problem I've had with DVD-RB since the way early versions: didn't copy vts_3_01.vob for me either. :(

Same error with Euro Trip, no pb with v0.52 (I copied the missing files manually, it worked)

Yup, I have this too. Again, first real problem that I've encountered. Also, when I copy over the missing file, it takes my rb encode to 4.37gb, which won't burn as far as I know.

I got this after running Farscape Vol 10 through VobBlanker and then DVD-RB. When it wouldn't play, (after tearing out my hair for an hour) I found this thread and noticed that none of the VTS_xx_01 files that were created by VobBlanker were copied. Now that I've copied them over it works fine.

Can anyone confirm whether these files are all under 50MB?

All of mine were under 1MB.

jdobbs,

My dropped VOB file was 10Mb.

And mine was 18.8 MB (VTS_02_1). VTS_02_0 is a 0kb file on the original...

I had several dropped files as well and they were all under 50MB.

I apologize for this... I'd made what I thought was a simple cosmetic change in my code that caused this. I've just uploaded version 0.53a which fixes it.

Sorry.

That's okay. I didn't really need that hair anyway. Just glad it's fixed now.

we are beta testers, no?

thanks for the quick response.

I was backing up 'Touching the Void', and it dropped a single file, the VTS_02_1 .VOB file.

update:
Just ran the same full disk backup with v.53a, and no problem at all- all VOB files present.

I have found DVDRb generated files fail Nero's compliance test but it is because the BUP files do not match the IFO files.

To fix all I do is delete the BUP files and copy and rename the IFO files. Sure, Nero might be fussy but surely that is better than getting DVDs that don't play on all players?

This has been discussed before. I can assure you that the IFO files and BUP files created by DVD-RB (when working alone) match. If you are experiencing this problem you are probably running some other preprocessing program that is mismatching them.

Yeah you are of course correct.. Forgot I had pre-processed with a stripping util.

Keep up the good work tho....it would be great if this util could also include some sort of stripping ability (VobBlanker is fine but doesnt do individual cells/IDs but DVDStripper does) but the batch facility is a god send.
